According to the Argentine newspaper, La Nación, the tour DVD was filmed during the performances at River Plate Stadium. In the interview with Chris Lamb (tour production director) stated that Madonna choose the Argentine audience because of the strong emotional bond that they share. The article did not mention a release date.
I've heard 2 stories
one that Madonna was not happy with the original filming of the footage that was going to be used "it rained" the crowd was smaller or less enthusiastic?
and then I saw this on a blog
The Dvd Will not be released anytime soon
as there are contractual issues concerning footage and songs still under copyright with Warner Music. Live Nation is in litigations with Warner to own the exclusive rights to the concert documentary and Warner will not negotiate since they have yet to put out Madonna’s Greatest Hits package this year. The conflict arises purely from song ownership. Madonna has nothing to do with this. It’s about who cashes in on the sales of these two products. Her switch from one corporation to another has kinked the plan until a settlement can be reached. Extended the tour also halts Warner from releasing the Greatest Hits Package as well since this move will be seen by Warner as “free advertising” for a concert sponsored by Live Nation which, in turn, offers nothing in terms of a profit to Warner. Live Nation wanted to purchase the rights to Madonna’s final contact fulfillment; however, they won’t budge either. This leaves everyone and everything at a standstill for the time being. This is the ugliness of the entertainment industry.
