How to set FPS to a fixed frame rate?
Is their a way to set FPS to a fixed rate? Because when my computer over-heats it lowers the frame rate drastically. My computer plays most of my games at a 28-30 FPS when its not over heated, and when it over-heats the frame rate drops to a great 2-7 FPS. So I was wondering if there is a was to set my frame rate to around 15-20 FPS.
P.S. I am getting a cooling fan for it because it just doesn't stay cool on my desk, so this will only be till I get it in the mail.
You Can't exactly do that, but you can avoid the overheating.
I'm guessing this is a laptop. If so, elevate the back end so that the cpu/video fan has completely exposed vents.
Next (same for desktop or laptop), go to your video card manufacturer's website and look for overclocking utilities. What You want to do is use that O/C tool to UNDERclock your graphics card (i.e. slow down the processor). That will cut your fps, and the maximum load the card pulls, avoiding the overheat problem. You probably won't have to dial it back more than 10%.
